We understand the attractiveness of the Yorkshire Dales for walking with dogs and that they are often just one of the family. As much as we love animals, such as our black labrador friend Jack, we are sorry but we do not accept any pets at Inglenook Cottage or The Byre - be it the four-legged or two-legged feathered variety.
We welcome registered assistance / guide dogs only at The Dairy to support their owner. Please do not be offended if we ask for a copy of the license as part of your reservation. We are happy to provide potential guests with their licensed dogs a copy of our Doggy Code at The Dairy prior to the reservation of The Dairy.
There are a number of reasons for this - mainly sheep being hosted in adjoining fields, orphan spring lambs that need regular feeding and neighbours having their own cats and dogs who have settled into a territory lifestyle that we would not like to see disrupted. Please do read the Yorkshire Dales National Park's guidelines for tips on walking with your dog in the area to help you, your pet and everyone else enjoy this beautiful area in safety.
Of course, we also need to consider our guests with regard to thorough cleaning to ensure we maintain an allergy-free environment.
However, if you would like to find a Yorkshire Dales cottage that does accept pets, please contact Nadine Bell at Country Hideaways telephone 01969 663559. Country Hideaways has a number of cottages of various sizes in and around Wensleydale that do accept pets. Further afield, may we recommend Premier Cottages - the outstanding collection of 4 and 5 star cottages around the UK and Channel Islands, of which we are a member.
