Guest Book - The Dairy
(poem) Another Christmas and New Year, happily spent with much good cheer. Waking up to see the snowfall, on Christmas Day, there was none at all. Walks in the sunshine, admiring the view, Being blown off our feet in Leyburn too! We had our share of wind and rain, but snug in The Dairy we never complain. We're always grateful to be here, especially at this time of year. Thanks for your company and all you do, to make Christmas special and New Year too....until Christmas 2025, take care of yourselves.
Had the most amazing first stay here! Wonderful place and Diane is so helpful. The Dairy's accessible features have been perfect for Rob's needs (he has MS), yet it has been so beautifully converted. You would never think there was so much accessibility - nothing clinical or medical here! The decorations for Christmas were the perfect finishing touch. Had a wonderful meal at the Wensleydale Heifer, who were so welcoming and friendly (not the toilets however are not easily accessible). We are already planning our next stay! Thank you so much Diane for everything you have done.
Wedding Anniversary treat and what a treat! Thanks Diane and Andrew for a truly wonderful 4 day stay in The Dairy. The attention to detail is really impressive and equally the warm welcome. This has been our first stay and won't be our last! Have a peaceful and Happy Christmas to you all.
Another fabulous pre-Christmas stay in The Dairy - the cottage is wonderfully festive, really putting us in the seasonal spirit. The Dales have been stunning this year. We have seen so many barn owls during the day whilst exploring the countryside. See you again in March. Merry Christmas Diane, Andrew and Rachel.
What a treat to experience The Dairy in its Festive Glory, made even more seasonal by an overnight fall of snow. Another amazing stay at this beautiful cosy cottage with everything we need in place to make it totally accessible for our need. Enjoyed the Christmas Gift & Food Fair at Ripon Cathedral and a trip to Mainsail Farm Shop (excellent recommendations from Diane). Thank you once again Diane and Andrew for your warm welcome and always ensuring we have everything we require to make our stay so enjoyable, Our thanks to Rachel for decorating the cottage in advance of our visit (Diane & Andrew away on holiday). Looking forward to our return visit in May 2025.
Another wonderful stay at The Dairy. We were blessed with glorious weather. Autumn is such a lovely time to visit. Everything in the cottage was perfect, as always. Thank you Rachel. We tried all our usual haunts this time and a couple of new things. The Crab & Lobster near Thirsk was nice is you happy to be that way but otherwise the Wensleydale Heifer is better. The Wensleydale Heifer has opened a 'chippy' style menu at lunchtime, which is much more affordable than their regular menu if you prefer. Thanks again for another lovely stay. We look forward to returning in 2025. After such a beautiful autumn stay, we're ready for whatever winter throws at us!
Our first time staying at The Dairy as always stayed at Inglenook. We were not disappointed and already have fallen in love with The Dairy as our second home. See you in March 2025.
Superb cottage. Everything of the highest quality, Visited Buttertubs Pass, Tann Hill, Ribblehead Viaduct. Fantastic area with spectacular views. Great host, very attentive. cottage fantastic for folks with mobility issues. Nothing too much trouble. We will be back!
Another relaxing stay. Enjoyed visiting Northallerton, Craft Fair at Tennants (as well as lunch) and Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle. Wonderful exhibition of paintings by L.S. Lowry and Norman Cornish - some of which came from private collections. Many thanks to Diane, Andrew & Rachel.
Brilliant week as usual. A couple of rainy days but it doesn't make any difference, the scenery is just as beautiful. Thank you Andrew and Diane, your cottage is really home from home. We even had two friends come for coffee and they were blown away by it all and booked it for themselves next year. That says it all. A great big thank you.
Another fabulous wedding anniversary stay - we still love it here year after year - lucky with the weather too!
Another wonderful visit to The Dairy. Thank you Diane and Andrew for making everything so perfect. We've had a busy week which started at the delightful Masham Sheep Fair, then there was Raby Castle (wonderful gardens), a trip to Ambleside for retail therapy and finally a visit to Bowes Museum to see the LS Lowry exhibition - amazing! Can't wait to see you both at the end of the year!
So lovely to ee the number of returning guests and we will certainly be joining that elite group! It has taken us over a decade to finally make the trip to spend time with Diane and Andrew and so gad we did. The cottage lacks for nothing - even our own personal benchmark of 'egg cups' was met! Already planned our next trip back next spring. And it goes without saying we have totally fallen for this fabulous part of the UK. Long may it remain unspoilt! Huge thank you!!
Another fabulous stay at The Dairy (our 5th) and fortunate to have amazing weather. Visited our favourite places, all very accessible - Thorp Perrow, Harlow Carr and Newby Hall and Gardens. Thank you Diane and Andrew for the additional equipment making it possible to continue to enjoy such a luxurious cottage and to have the privilege of sitting in your beautiful garden is such an added bonus. Looking forward to our next stay in The Dairy.
Arrived at 26 degrees, left at 2 degrees! Good job brought all seasons clothing. Still, lots of brightness and a wonderfully relaxing stay. Tours of Newby Hall and Tennants thoroughly recommended. Thanks to Diane and Andrew for looking after us so well.
